Nutritional effects of bile acids on crustaceans

Promote the replacement of soybean meal reduction, and build a feed formula structure suitable for China's national conditions and resource characteristics! Experts suggest that adding an appropriate amount of bile acid in the animal diet can emulsify fat, emulsified soybean meal oil, improve the activity of lipase, protease and cellulase in animals, improve the utilization rate of feed raw materials, enhance liver protein anabolism, promote protein deposition in the body, so as to reduce the use of soybean meal.

Nutritional effects of bile acids on crustaceans

Crustaceans do not synthesize cholesterol and bile acids and therefore must obtain these from baits. Crustaceans (especially shrimp) need to take cholesterol and bile acids at all stages of their growth and convert them into moulhormones in the body to ensure normal molting during growth. As a steroid substance, bile acid, like cholesterol, is an indispensable nutrient in the normal growth of shrimp and crabs. It is also proved that adding bile acid to the feed can promote the growth of shrimp and crab more effectively. Crustaceans such as shrimp and crabs lack the ability to synthesize cholesterol and bile acids, and therefore need to obtain these substances from the bait to maintain normal growth.

Mechanism of bile acid on shrimp

Cholesterol is necessary for crustacean organisms such as South American white prawns and has important physiological functions. Cholesterol is the precursor of ecting hormone, which can promote smooth peeling of prawns and improve growth performance and survival rate. South American white prawns lack of cholesterol synthesis ability, bile acid by as a potent nutrition regulator, adjust the balance value of water oil (water oil balance value =19), at the same time bile acid combined with lipase in the digestive tract, make its catalytic group exposed and the change of space structure, improve the activity of lipase, promote the digestion and absorption of oil and cholesterol.

Bile acid improves the utilization rate of feed lipids, stores more oil droplets in the liver and pancreas, meets the energy demand of shrimp during ecdysis, reduces the loss of R cells in the ecdysis interval, improves the retention rate of copper, zinc, iron, selenium and other metal ions in the liver and pancreas, and provides material basis for molting and immunity.

South American white shrimp gut and liver is the body's largest endotoxin pool, endotoxin can cause intestinal mucosal edema, intestinal villus top cell necrosis, intestinal permeability increase, thus destroy the intestinal mucosal barrier function, in the intestinal mucosal barrier is destroyed, endotoxin can through the intestinal mucosal barrier through the portal vein into the liver and pancreas, harm body health. Bile acid plays an important barrier role in intestinal immunity. It can combine or decompose the endotoxin in the liver and pancreas and the intestinal tract, reduce the absorption of endotoxin in the intestinal tract, and prevent the harm of endotoxin to the intestinal tract, liver and pancreas and even the whole body.

The growth performance of the white shrimp depends on the molting interval. The addition of substances with strong emulsification ability in the feed can improve the utilization rate of cholesterol and shorten the molting interval. Luo Yuan et al. studied the effect of cholesterol and taurine in soybean meal on the growth performance and cholesterol content of the shrimp, and found that the 0.3% cholesterol and 0.2% taurine experimental group were better than the group with only 0.6% cholesterol in terms of growth performance and feed efficiency. This shows that bile acid, as emulsified oil, improves the utilization rate of feed cholesterol and saves cholesterol.
